Getting Down to Work in Kabah Park

A month before Cop 16 takes place in our city, more than 350 members and friends of the Olympus Tours Foundation got DOWN TO WORK and on October 24th 2010 we reforested Kabah Park in downtown Cancun.

Children, teenagers, men, women and senior citizens enthusiastically planted trees native to the region: palma Chit, Chaca, Cedro and Nacax, among others. The event was organized as part of the actions that are taking place on an international level by citizens’ groups to stress the importance of reducing carbon dioxide emissions to 350 parts per million, the safety limit for the atmosphere.

Our Foundation, thanks to support from Cancun City Hall’s Ecology Department which provided us with saplings, was able to use this reforestation as our contribution to the reduction of our own carbon emissions in downtown Cancun.
