Olympus Tours "Wears it Pink"

During the whole month of October, the Olympus Tours Foundation joined the international fight against breast cancer. As in the major cities of the world, we hung a pink ribbon outside our building, with the aim of attracting people’s attention and creating consciousness, especially among the female population, about how important breast self-examination is in the early detection of this illness.

The Olympus Tours Foundation answered the call of the International campaign by joining this fight and supporting the initiative of Cancun City Hall’s Youth Department, sponsoring the posters of the Women’s Festival that took place in Region 228, one of the suburbs in Cancun where low income families are concentrated. Also, the balls used in the 2010 Olympus Cup soccer competition were the official balls of the fight against breast cancer campaign.

Around the world a woman dies every minute from this illness and every two hours in our country, reminding us that it is the main cause of death due to malignant neoplasia in women. Through our campaigns we wish to contribute to making people conscious of the importance of the early detection of breast cancer
